BENEVOLENT FUND

Benevolence” – Benevolence characterizes the true goodness of the mind and spirit, the unbiased kindness to do good.  It is the expression of agape love (Greek word for unconditional love)

What is the Benevolent Fund?

Immanuel Baptist has always been a church of compassion and love because of the gracious giving of its people.  The Benevolent Fund is one of the ways we minister to those in our church family, as well as those in the greater Truro area.  We assist those that are in emergency need in the following areas:  rent, fuel, power, food, referrals to counseling, medical needs and house repairs.  The fund is administered by the Lead Pastor and a Deacon appointee to the guidelines given by the Deacons Ministry.

How do I apply for assistance?

To apply for assistance from the Benevolent Fund - you are required to come up to the church at 295 Young Street, Truro, NS – and fill out a confidential form.  On this form you will be asked your name, address, phone number, as well as some general information concerning those living with you.  Please bring a photo ID with you (Driver’s License) so we can verify your identity.

When will I receive assistance?

After you fill out your form, the church secretary will contact the appropriate people and your information will be passed on to them.  We try to respond in a timely manner and you will be contacted usually within 2 – 3 days.
