Welcome to Discovery Lagoon at IBC!


Every Sunday morning, beginning part way through our 10:30 service, kids ages 3 to grade 6 are invited to leave their parents in church

 and come down to Robertson Hall to have FUN and learn about God!

Children can be picked up after the  10:30 worship service.


Kids will have a time of games, music, fun together as a large group and then break into smaller groups.

Then, will come back together in a large group for the closing time.

Parents: We have a Security Desk where your children will be checked in and all our teachers have had Police Record Checks completed.


 

Here is what the kids will be learning

 

Week 1

• Lesson Goal: This lesson will teach the children that God wants us to show His love to everyone through our actions.
• Main Point: God Loves Everyone And So Should I!
• Bible Story: The good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-35)
• Memory Verse: "For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself'" (Galatians 5:14 NLT).


Week 2

•Lesson Goal: This lesson will teach the children that we should praise God even when things are difficult.
•Main Point: When Trouble Comes I Will Praise God!
•Bible Story: Paul and Silas in prison (Acts 16:16-40)
•Memory verse: "Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy" (James 1:2 NLT).


Week 3

•Lesson Goal: This lesson will teach the children that we should do more than just talk about doing the right thing. We need to follow through on our words with actions.
•Main Point: I Will Do The Right Thing, Not Just Talk About It!
•Bible Story: Ruth and Naomi (Ruth 1; 2)
•Memory Verse: "So you see, faith by itself isn't enough. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless" (James 2:17 NLT).


Week 4

•Lesson Goal: This lesson will teach children to use their words to be helpful to others and not hurtful.
•Main Point: I Will Use My Words To Help Others!
•Bible Story: Jethro's advice to Moses (Exodus 18)
•Bible Verse: "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer" (Psalm 19:14 NLT).


Week 5

•Lesson Goal: This lesson will teach children that we should listen to and do what the Bible says.
•Main Point: I Will Listen and Do What The Bible Says
•Bible Story: King Josiah and the book of God's law (2 Kings 22; 23)
•Bible Verse: "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right" (2 Timothy 3:16 NLT).


Week 6

•Lesson Goal: This lesson will teach children that we should pray to God about everything.
•Main Point: I Will Pray to God About Everything
•Bible Story: The life of King Asa (2 Chronicles 14-16)
•Memory Verse: "Never stop praying" (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT).


Week 7

•Lesson Goal: This lesson will teach children that they should give their best to God and to others.
•Main Point: I Will Give My Best to God
•Bible Story: The poor widow's offering (Luke 21)
•Bible Verse: "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce" (Proverbs 3:9 NLT).


Week 8

•Lesson Goal: This lesson will teach children that we can look forward to Heaven because Jesus paid for our sins.
•Main Point: I Can Look Forward to Heaven Because Jesus Forgives Me
•Bible Story: The salvation story (Matthew; Mark; Luke; John)
•Bible Verse: "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16 NLT).
